 British Skill

The British Skill was one of 6 supertankers of between 28 & 30,000 DWT ordered by the British Tanker Co. in 1949 for delivery from 1951.
 
She was 29,891 DWT, 642'11" LOA, Breadth 81'4", Max draught 35'2". Powered by two steam turbines manufactured by the builder and double reduction geared to a single shaft. 13,750 shp @ 105 rpm giving her a service speed of 15 knots. Tank layout 10C & 20W, single pumproom housing 3 pumps and a separate stripping system. Max. discharge 2,550 t.w./hr. Victor Pyrate tank cleaning system and a 12" stern discharge line.
 
She traded until 1st December 972 when she was sold to Willtops (Asia) Ltd.,Singapore. She arrived under tow at Kaohsiung on 27th December 1972 for demolition by Yung Tai Steel & Iron Works Co. Ltd.
