The first of three Dukes, the others being Duke of Lancaster, Duke of Rothesay
 
New names: Neptunia 1975, Corinthia 1987, Faith Power 1994, Fairy Princess 1995, Zenith 1995-96
 
She was built for Heysham - Belfast service, later Holyhead - Dun Laoghaire.
 
 In 1968, an Act of Parliament separated the shipping interests of British Rail into a new division, for which the marketing name Sealink was adopted in 1970.
 
In 1970 Duke of Argyll was converted to a car ferry, with a vehicle deck of only 6ft 6in height, loaded from the stern.
 
The Heysham-Belfast route was closed on 5th April, 1975, with the Duke of Argyll running the final sailing to Ulster.
 
In October 1975 sold to A.G. Yannoulatos, Limassol for Libra Maritime (Hellenic Mediterranean Lines = HML) for the route Brindisi - Patras - Piraeus, later Ancona - Piraeus - Limassol - Haifa, later Brindisi - Piraeus - Izmir.
 
In 1987 sold to Scanmed Shipping Co, Valletta, but continued operating for HML, now on the route Patras - Messina.
 
In 1994 sold to Power Sea Transportation S.A., Panama, and in 1995 was registered to San Lorenzo, Honduras.
 
On 07-20-1995 arrived in Hongkong, where she was supposed to be converted into a casino ship. During the conversion a fire started in the engine room and she was declared a Total Constructive Loss.
 
In March 1996 she arrived in Zhongshan, China for demolition.
