Was a  passenger / cargo vessels designed specifically for the United Kingdom to South American service with a capacity of some 500 passengers and 5000 tons of mainly refrigerated cargo. The last ships built for the Royal Mail Line and were all transferred to the Shaw Savill Line in the late 1960's when Royal Mail Lines made a decision to end the South American service.
 
She was transferred to Shaw Savill and Albion in 1968 and re-named  Akaroa
 
She was sold to  A/S Uglands Rederi, Grimstad, Norway in 1971 and re-named Akarita  and turned into a side-door vehicle carrier.
 
In 1977 she was sold to a Liberian company Sagitta (Liberia) Ltd, Monrovia and re-named Hual Akarita
 
In 1980 she was re-named Akarita  once again (same ownership).
 
January 1982 broken up at Kaosiung ,Taiwan.
