 British Steel

Was built for charter to the British Steel Corporation.
She was floated out of the building dock on 28th January 1984 and handed over on 19th October. Of 90800grt and 173000dwt she was at that time the largest bulker yet built in Europe. With her red hull and decks she was quite a striking sight in bright sunshine!

2001 renamed Good Luck.

As 2012 dawned and we learned that the Harland & wolff giant of its day, British Steel, as she was known before her last name of Good Luck, departed for the breakers.

This ship harks back to the 'Good old days' when we still had yards pumping out giant commercial ships.

As Good Luck, she was sold to Indian breakers for scrapping.
