Lady Sybil H was built as a Royal Navy pinnace in 1931 by Harland & Wolff, Liverpool and is a vessel of diagonal teak construction with a Leyland 90 diesel engine.

After service at Dunkirk she was later sold out of Naval service service in 1946 and professionally converted to a private motor yacht for Edwin Hands. After some years in Cardiff Bay the current owner's grandfather bought the boat in 1955 and moved her to the non tidal River Severn.
