[Sister ship Arana]

The vessel was under construction at A & J Inglis of Pointhouse when the yard was taken over by Harland & Wolff in 1919, A & J Inglis ship number was retained.
 
Launched as War Sultana  H Type Standard Ship.
 
1922 Sold to Pacific Steam Navigation Company Ltd., Liverpool with her sisters Arana and Alvarado as they were too big for the Spanish trade.

February 1967 whilst on ballast voyage from Manaus to Areia Branca suffered a major fire and was beached at Belem. Subsequently refloated and put to anchor.
