She traded to Calcutta for the Brocklebanks until sold in 1890.

She was sold to Grazie Beazley (Australian Shipping Company) In 1890, converted to barque rig about 1893/4. In 1900 she was sold to a Norwegian owner renamed Ryvingen.

Ryvingen was wrecked at Table Bay in May 1902, she drove ashore near Mole, Woodstock Beach. She had been at anchor after a passage Ardrossan to Cape Town with coal. As a terrific gale swept over the bay Ryvingen's cables parted and she was drove over an old wreck, holed, she rapidly sunk. The crew of 20 under captain Tonnensen took to the two boats which were now at deck level. They were picked up by the Cape lifeboats, fortunately there were no casualties.
