 Ulster Monarch

The Ulster Monarch ran on the Belfast - Liverpool service from 1929 to 1966 with an interval of war service.

The ship along with her two sisters the Ulster Prince and the Ulster Queen were pioneer diesel - propelled cross-channel passenger ships

Taken over by Admiralty in 1940 as a stores carrier, she was converted in 1942 into an infantry landing ship, LSI(S), with six Landing Craft Assault craft (LCA) and able to transport up to 580 troops.

In 1945 the ship was returned to her owners.

She was broken up at Ghent, Belgium in 1966.
