Desna was one of five sistership "D" Class passenger-cargo vessels built in 1911-1912 by Royal Mail Lines for their secondary services between the UK and South America and the West Indies. They were all constructed by Harland and Wolff - named Deseado, Demerara, Desna, Darro and Drina. Part of cargo capacity was designed for meat.
 
Maiden voyage Liverpool-River Plate.
 
She was scrapped in1933.
