4.8.1932: Fleet passed into ownership of Royal Mail Lines Ltd.
 
6.10. 1939: Damaged by mine in position 51.24N, 04.OOW, 4% miles SW of Scarweather lightvessel in the Bristol Channel. Ship was towed across the channel and 7.10,1939 beached off the Mumbles lighthouse and subsequently towed into Swansea and declared a total constructive loss.
 
Sold to the Ministry of Shipping (Royal Mail Lines Ltd., managers) and rebuilt.
 
1942: Renamed Empire Rowan.
 
27th March 1943: Torpedoed and sunk by aircraft off Philippeville in position 37.16N, 06.54W, with the loss of 3lives.
