Chief Electrical Draughtsman Jim Patterson retired in October 1982, leaving behind what colleagues described as "a legacy of excellent service". Jim was with the firm for 46 years, the last nine of which were spent as Chief of the Electrical D.O., and so widely-recognised was his ability that Chief Technical Manager Bill Harrison was able to say of him on the day he retired: "Jim Patterson is a man who will be missed."
