We reckon that this vessel must qualify for the title of the smallest ship repair job to be tackled by H &W. It is a 1/48th scale model of ‘Fair head,’ which was a well known vessel belonging to the Ulster Steamship Co., Ltd., (G. Heyn and Sons, Ltd., Belfast). The model had been damaged and was sent to our Shipyard Model office for repair and overhaul before going on display at an exhibition in the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, Cultra, to commemorate the centenary of the Ulster Steamship Co, In the picture Bobby Dodds (left) and Sam Trueick, our two skilled modelmakers, are seen putting the finishing touches to the model.
