If present form and an Impressive list of titles are anything to go by Steelworker Ken Beattie likely to be H & W’s boxing hope for this year’s Commonwealth Games at Edmonton. Ken comes from a family with a the sporting record. His uncle Welder William Kirkpatrick, plays football for Distillery, and his brother George, a steelworker apprentice in Victoria Works, held a Juvenile boxing title before taking up football and ultimately playing for Crusaders.
