Son of William Collins Betteridge and Margaret Sarah Betteridge, of 47, Palmerston Drive, Litherland, Liverpool.
ONE OF HARLAND AND WOLFF'S.
Private John Betteridge, 7th Battalion King's (Liverpool Regiment), who died May 18th at Boulogne Hospital from wounds, joined the regiment on August 31st, and was drafted out to France on March 7th. On April 8th he celebrated his 21st birthday in the trenches. His brave and cheery disposition endeared him to all his comrades and friends. A good comrade and a loyal soldier, he will be long remembered by all who knew him. Before joining he was employed at Harland and Wolff's.
