Walter lived at 50 Winn Road, the son of Arthur, who served on the PCC at Highfield and Fanny. Walter was awarded the Military Cross in December 1916.
He was killed in action during the First Battle of Bapaume, part of the German Spring Offensive on The Somme. He is remembered on the Pozieres Memorial, France.
